Federal Horticultural Show (1 day) BUGA 2011 in Koblenz15 April - 16 October 2011 |
Koblenz, the 2000 year old town at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, is going to host the Bundesgartenschau (Germany's largest horticultural show) from15th April to 16th October 2011.
The BUGA 2011 will be a colourful and cheerful major event which involve places beyond the town and make it an attraction for visitors from near and far.
A special feature of this National Garden Show is the fact that it takes place directly in the town centre. The town’s inner city core areas surrounding the “palace” and the “flower gardens” will be redesigned. The detailed flower gardens are an ideal place for different forms and art periods. These inner town core areas are on the right-hand side of the Rhine, high above and opposite the third core area – the “Ehrenbreitstein Plateau“ which will be redesigned into a landscaped park. The planned cable car for a period of three years according to the stipulations of UNESCO will form a connection from the town centre to the fortress plateau in a car on an 800 metre long tense, free hanging cable and will be able to carry 3000 people per hour in each direction over the Rhine.
